Wan Tan Noodle Craze!

By my queenstown on Thursday, July 29, 2010 with 2 comments

Wantan Noodle is a popular Cantonese dish in Singapore. Served with springy noodle, the bite sized dumplings and Barbecued Pork must be well prepared before anybody will be attracted. Today, we found one store, "Healthy Noodle" which fulfills all criteria for a delicious plate of Wantan Noodle!

A plate of Wantan Noodle!

Healthy Noodle, opened from 7.30am to 4.30pm daily (except Wednesday) has been serving residents in Commonwealth for the past 47 years. The father of the owner, Mr Chen, used to be an itinerant hawker peddling along Tanglin Halt and Commonwealth Drive before relocating to Commonwealth Crescent food Centre 47 years ago.

Mr Chen poses in front of his store!

Each day, Mr Chen and his younger brother will purchase fresh and quality ingredients from their suppliers such as fresh pork and soy sauce. Then, they will marinate their roasted pork and dumplings thoroughly, which explains the amazing burst of flavours when we taste the dumplings.

Residents, young and old alike, flocked to the noodle stall every day for a plate of wantan mee. Their amazing plate of wantan noodle has attracted many press coverage and chef's recommendations from all over the island. Mr Chen estimates that he can sell 200 to 300 plates of Wantan Mee every day.
